Run Sparrow on your own Windows 11 PC. Review these requirements before starting your 7-day free trial, then use RTVCP Deploy to check the computer you plan to use.
System requirements

| Memory | At least 16 GB of installed RAM. Leave memory available for Sparrow, its AI model, and supporting services. |
| Storage | Free space for the application, AI model, prerequisites, database, and event data. Use the installer's storage check to confirm available capacity. An SSD is recommended. |
| Graphics / AI | A compatible NVIDIA GPU and driver for CUDA-accelerated analysis. The reference hardware uses an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 with 8 GB of dedicated GPU memory. Use RTVCP Deploy to confirm GPU compatibility. |
| Cameras | Compatible cameras with accessible RTSP streams. Have the camera addresses and login credentials ready. |
| Network | A reliable connection between the PC and cameras. Wired Ethernet is recommended for consistent stream access. |
| Internet | Internet access for setup downloads, trial registration, license activation, and software updates. |
| Permissions | Administrator access to install Sparrow and its required software and Windows services. |
Hardware determines capacity.
The number of cameras your PC can handle depends on GPU performance, available GPU memory, stream resolution, activity levels, and analysis settings. Test your actual cameras during the trial to find a workload your system can sustain.
Keep resources available
Games, other AI applications, and GPU-heavy software compete with Sparrow for memory and processing time. Allow room for Windows and other services as well.
Plan for continuous operation
Keep the PC powered on and connected to the cameras. Configure sleep settings so monitoring can continue when you are away.
Check your PC before installation.
- Open Settings → System → About to check your Windows edition, system type, and installed RAM.
- Open Task Manager → Performance → GPU to view your graphics card and dedicated GPU memory.
- Check free disk space in File Explorer → This PC.
- Run the installer and follow the requirements check in RTVCP Deploy before configuring your cameras.
Setup installs the required supporting components, including .NET runtimes, PostgreSQL, Redis, and the AI model. Allow time for these downloads and installation steps.
